“The Conjuring” will come to a gruesome end in autumn 2025

The work of The film by famous demonologists Ed and Lorraine Warren has a long and undoubtedly scary ending on the big screen.

New Line announced that the final, fourth film in the incantation Horror franchise will be released on September 5, 2025, according to The Hollywood Reporter. The currently untitled film, directed by Michael Chavez, follows the 2013 original film, the 2016 film. The Conjuring 2 – The VisitationAnd Conjuring – The Devil Made Me Do It from 2021. James Wan directed the original incantationwhich grossed nearly $320 million in 2013 on a budget of $20 million. The film is about the Warrens, paranormal investigators played impeccably by Patrick Wilson and Vera Farmiga, who meet Roger Perron (Ron Livingston), his wife Carolyn (Lili Taylor) and their five daughters. What unfolds is a film from the seventies, Amityville horror-style film about a family haunted by a nightmarish presence in their Rhode Island farmhouse.

During an interview with Rolling Stone published on the day of the original’s release, Wan (who also wrote the Seen Franchise) spoke about the making of the film. “I wanted to go back and make a classic horror film like they used to do and really take that and make a classic horror film with great actors and make it very classic and beautiful to look at,” the director said.

When asked if he was surprised by the film’s good reviews, Wan replied: “Actually, I’m very surprised.” He added: “Critics tend to be very harsh on the horror genre. I think there is something about The Conjuring that seems to resonate with people and I’m happy about that. Hopefully it inspires studios to make more classic horror films and not be afraid of them.”
