Lawrenceville teenager arrested after meeting Athens girl online

A Gwinnett County teenager remains in jail after being arrested for alleged sexual contact with a minor, who police say he met online and arranged to visit in Athens.

Athens-Clarke Police announced the arrest of 19-year-old Jehron Arnez Keys of Lawrenceville. He is charged with kidnapping, child abuse, sexual abuse of a minor, reckless driving, three counts of hit and run, failure to maintain lane and operating a vehicle with unsafe tires.

He remains in jail without bail on sex crimes charges.

Police responded to the 200 block of Highland Park Drive after family members confronted Keys and the 14-year-old victim in Keys’ older model Volvo SUV.

The victim told police she met the suspect online and believed he was 16 years old. The two had some sort of sexual contact and some time later family members became involved in the incident and called police.
