During rehearsals for the one-off performance, B-Real (born Louis Mario Freese) told the BBC: “It’s something we’ve been talking about for many years, since The simpsons episode broadcast for the first time.”

“We’ve never met him before, but we thought it would be a kick to invite the legendary Peter Frampton,” he said, and the group added that they “salute The simpsons because if they hadn’t written that episode, we probably wouldn’t be doing this.”

B-Real and his Cypress Hill colleagues Sen Dog and DJ Lord told Sky News that this was historic and “probably one of the biggest moments” ever for the group.
