WEST FARGO – Peking Restaurant, a West Fargo staple for over 30 years, is closing.

The restaurant, located at 108 Main Avenue, was the first Chinese restaurant in West Fargo and is a popular stop for many in the community when it comes to take-out or a hot and filling meal.

The last full day of business in the little red building is Saturday, August 24th.

The announcement by Amy Tran, daughter of owners Phuoc and Ai Shun, was made on social media Tuesday afternoon, July 10, including posts on Reddit and on Fargo-Moorhead Eats, a Facebook page for local foodies.

“They wanted me to help them spread the word that after over 30 years they will be closing their doors forever. Their last day is August 24, 2024,” Tran wrote.

“Peking Restaurant was the first Chinese restaurant in West Fargo and over the years we have gotten to know many customers from the community. Some of you have treated us like friends and family and my mom (the friendliest waitress ever) even remembers some of you when you were kids and now you all have kids of your own!

“It has been truly incredible to witness the support and love for the company, especially last fall when The Forum wrote a review about them. They wanted to express their deep gratitude for your loyalty and friendship over the past three decades.

“If you have the opportunity, please spread the word and stop by for one last meal until August 24th!” Tran wrote, adding an important addition: “If you stop by, remember they still only accept cash!”
