Hannah Richardson returns to the Bluegrass, signs with Lexington SC – UK Athletics

LEXINGTON, Kentucky – Hannah Richardson, a star of Kentucky women’s soccer from 2019-2022, is returning to Lexington to continue her professional soccer career.

As the club announced on Monday, Richardson has signed a contract with the Lexington Sporting Club’s inaugural USL Super League squad, which is scheduled to begin its inaugural season this August.

“I am excited to be back in the city of Lexington,” Richardson said in a Lexington SC press release. “Ever since I played soccer in UK and graduated here, Lexington has always meant a lot to me. I feel blessed to be a part of this inaugural season and pave the way for young girls to pursue their dreams!”

During her four years at Kentucky, Richardson scored 22 goals and 14 assists and started 56 of her 62 games.

The Bartlett, Illinois native finished her college career in 2022. She started all 18 games for the Cats and led the team with nine assists, a career high that earned her third place in the Southeastern Conference.

The dynamic forward scored eight goals in each of her two seasons with the Wildcats, including one in her freshman year when she was named to the SEC All-Freshmen Team.

Richardson graduated with a bachelor’s degree in communications. She was named to the SEC Academic Honor Roll four times.

Last season, Richardson played for HB Koge, a top Danish club, and helped the team to third place in Denmark’s Elite Division.
