Carlos Bosch, who led the girls basketball program for Forsyth Home Educators and also works as an executive for a furniture company, has been named the new head coach of High Point Christian’s girls basketball team, the school announced on its social media page Wednesday.

Bosch replaces Brittany Drew, who led High Point Christian to three appearances in the NCISAA state finals. Drew, who is now an assistant coach at UNC Wilmington, also led HPCA to the 2020 state quarterfinals and 2021 state semifinals before reaching the title game the last three seasons. Drew compiled a 100-36 record in five seasons.

Bosch, who has led FHE to a 119-36 record, two consecutive home national championship Final Fours and three consecutive conference titles in four seasons, said he chose HPCA because there is a very strong alignment with the school’s administration on the way he wants to run the program both for next season and in the future.

Prior to FHE, Bosch served in various coaching roles at Sheets Memorial Christian School in Lexington. At both stops, he coached with his wife, Melly Bosch, a former college player at Lafayette. She will join her husband at HPCA.

“I think we (his family) come from a Christian organization and have spent most of our coaching careers in a Christian environment, and a lot of these things really happen when God leads you in a certain direction,” Carlos Bosch said. “And so I have to say that the decision was very much God-led in terms of the way we ended up communicating with them and how things turned out. That was what God had intended for us.”

Bosch is the current president of Violino USA, which has a showroom in High Point.
