Athens Restaurant Week is awash with new specialties, deals and menu items at participating local restaurants. Other restaurants are preparing new events, re-running promotions and creating summer specials. See it all in this week’s restaurant roundup.

Restaurant Week

From July 8th to 14th, many Athens restaurants will be offering Athenians some of their best deals of the year, as well as many new menu items and special offers. Here is a list of all participating restaurants.

Pinta School of Wine and Athens Cooks

Pinta School of Wine is pleased to announce its partnership with Athens Cooks to enhance wine and culinary education in Athens through several exciting programs. Monthly wine tastings feature a selection of wines from small independent producers and charcuterie, held in Athens Cooks’ cozy dining room.

In the coming weeks, Pinta will introduce a new wine sales program showcasing hand-selected wines from around the world. Wine evenings will showcase select wines paired with menus designed by Chef Alejandro to celebrate the magic of wine and food.

In addition, Pinta will introduce an artisan cheese and charcuterie program, sourcing exceptional products from traditional producers. The partnership also includes a series of cooking classes and workshops led by Chef Hunter and guest chefs.

Jam Jam Pub Crawl

Murrell’s Rows Spirits is launching its new Jam Jam Gin. To launch the product, a pub crawl will be held on Tuesday, July 16. The event will feature tastings of Jam Jam Gin at several local venues including Little Kings Shuffle Club, The National, Seabear Oyster Bar, Slater’s Steakhouse, Puma Yu’s, The Old Pal, Hilo Lounge and Normal Bar.

Your Pie celebrates summer with peach-inspired dishes. The “Peach & Prosciutto Pie” is a 10-inch pizza made by hand with olive oil, ricotta, prosciutto, mozzarella, parmesan, fresh peaches, basil, and honey balsamic glaze and ranges from $8.99 to $10.99. The “Summer Peach Salad” includes romaine lettuce, mozzarella, red onion, Roma tomatoes, peach slices, basil, and pecans and also ranges from $8.99 to $10.99.

For dessert, there are “Peaches and Cream Sticks” with a base of ricotta, peach slices, pecans and vanilla ice cream, which cost between $1.99 and $4.99. The “Summer Float” offers a blood orange sorbet on its own or with Sprite as a float, prices range from $1.99 to $4.99.

Baddies Burger

Baddie’s Burgers has a new pudding of the month, with Fruity Pebbles cereal and marshmallow crunch.

Athens is cooking

Athens Cooks will host the “Summer Supper Club” every Friday at 7:30 p.m. beginning Friday, July 12 through August 16. This weekly event costs $65 per person plus an additional $20 for wine pairings and features menus created by Chef Hunter and Chef Alejandro. Guests can enjoy dishes prepared with the freshest summer ingredients from local farms and served at a communal table. Reservations are required, but there is no upfront fee.

The Travelling Hobo Café

The Traveling Hobo Cafe announced that Cheesecake Tuesday will return on August 5

Andy’s Frozen Custard

Andy’s Frozen Custard has introduced a new summer flavor: Key Lime Pie, consisting of a vanilla frozen custard mixed with a whole piece of key lime pie. The new flavor can be made into a concrete cocktail or taken home in a pint.

Oglethorpe Garage

Oglethorpe Garage is offering a special cocktail through the end of July: “Sweaty Summer Happy Hour.” This new drink is a Bristow Gin Martini with shishito pepper olive brine. The bar is open until midnight and a portion of the proceeds benefit the Athens Farmers Market.
