16-year-old girl fakes burglary after killing her mother and her boyfriend

A 16-year-old girl is in juvenile detention after killing her mother and her mother’s boyfriend, according to police.

Investigators said she also called 911 to report a fake burglary.

Shortly after midnight on Sunday, police responded to a house on Benchor Road.

According to a report, 16-year-old Julia Egler called the police to report a fatal break-in. Two people were dead in the house.

The two victims were Julia’s mother, Kelley McCollom, and her mother’s boyfriend, Matthew Szejnrok.

According to police, Egler said she was hiding in her room when an unknown man broke into the house and attacked the couple.

Egler told police she believed the intruder was inside the house and later attacked McCollom and Szejnrok.

According to police, Egler said she later left her bedroom and found the couple dead.

Investigators said evidence at the crime scene did not match Egler’s statements and that she later confessed to the murders.

According to a report, Egler told police that the murders occurred after “numerous disagreements in the preceding weeks.”

According to police, Egler said she was “unhappy that Kelley was not very accepting of her gender reassignment, nor did she like that Kelly was dating 22-year-old Matthew.”

Officials said Egler was arrested and charged with two counts of first-degree premeditated murder.
