WEST FARGO – A West Fargo man was injured when the cement truck he was driving overturned on Interstate 94 on Thursday, July 11.

At around 10:30 a.m., 49-year-old Corey Cook was driving a 2018 Kenworth cement truck east on I-94, just west of Sheyenne Street, when the truck hit a soft patch of asphalt, lost control and overturned, according to a statement from the North Dakota Highway Patrol.

The truck overturned on its side and blocked both lanes of the highway, the press release said.

Cook suffered minor injuries and was wearing a seat belt.

Traffic was slowed and limited to one lane for approximately two hours while the scene was cleared. The accident remains under investigation by the Highway Patrol.

Our newsroom occasionally reports under the name “Staff.” The “Staff” name is often used when rewriting basic news briefs from official sources, such as a city press release about a road closure that requires little or no reporting. Sometimes this name is used when a story has multiple authors or when the story consists of compiling previously reported news from various sources. When outside sources are used, this is noted in the story.
